How To Scroll Saw Letters And Numbers

When I was trying to decide what style coffee table to add to our living room, I was leaning towards a more rustic and comfortable style. I chose to build a classic, farmhouse coffee table that was easy and simple to build. What I love about this coffee table is the turned table legs, they add just the right amount of classic style, which mixes great with the farmhouse style table top. Further, the legs were ready to build with and didn’t require any sanding or cuts, making this project even easier!

*Tip: See my how to use a Kreg Jig post for an easy, step by step tutorial and video tutorial on how to use the Kreg Jig!

2. Attach coffee table top boards

Attach the table top boards with the 1×8 board in the middle, using 1 1/4 Kreg screws.

3. Make cuts and add pocket holes to coffee table aprons

Cut the 1x3s for the table aprons to the following sizes with a miter saw:

  • (2) at 19 3/4″
  • (2) at 42″

Then, add pockets holes with a Kreg Jig as shown in the photos below. ***Note, when I took the photo below, on the two 42″ pieces, I forgot to add two Kreg holes on each end (just like the shorter pieces), so make sure to add those additional holes!

4. Attach table legs to table aprons

Using 1 1/4 Kreg screws, attach the short table aprons to the table leg tops 3/4″ in from the edge. It’s easiest to do this using a clamp and a scrap piece of the 1×3 underneath of the apron as shown in the photo below.

And here is what the coffee table frame looks like once all attached.

5. Attach coffee table top to table aprons

I also chose to finish my farmhouse coffee table with a beautiful, rustic, weathered wood finish! The tutorial on how to create this rustic, weathered wood finish is included in Weathered Wood Recipes, which you can learn more about here!
